Time offset in BD Author
Time offset in BD Author
Hi, i am testing bd author's reauthor functionality. I want to replace an audio stream in a existing bd. I experience problem with setting the correct time offset in the new audio.
Existing streams have an offset of "-810" as the info at the lower part of the picture says and at the time offset in the clip editor for this track is "-0:00:00:00". I want to do the same for the new track (marked with the arrow) but i can't find a way to put value "-810". What does "-810" mean anyway? If I let it at "0:00:00:00" it says offset "0" in the info at the bottom part of the picture.

Re: Time offsets in BD Author
A few sugestions as well.
1. I created a project and set as destination a hard disk with limited free space. When it began the compilation, the disk became full and BD Author couldn't write the files. Then, the application crashed, which I think is unacceptable for a program of its class. A proper error message would be appropriate.
2. The window that pops up when a project is compliling or demuxing is always in front of the screen and there is no way to minimize it. A button to minimize this would be useful, so the pc can be used for other things while BD Author is working.

Re: Time offset in BD Author
Hi!
Thanks for question and suggestions.
-810 value in property editor means Audio offset in PTS. This looks ok, but it is to less to be shown in time format as frame value. Depending on video one frame is about 3000 PTS, so -810 is value that can be just ignored as less then one frame. You just can't feel difference between zero offset and 810 PTS offset. Just for info: 1 second has 90000 PTS.
Regarding suggestions, yes we'll add these in new version. By the way, try latest version 1.3. There is old version 1.1 on our website, but you can use online request form for 1.3 Demo.
Best regards,
Valery Koval.

Re: Time offset in BD Author
I have already requested and using 1.3 demo. Thanks.
So I correctly guessed that -810 is something too small. The same disc in eac3to shows a delay of -9ms for that track, which is indeed too short to hear a difference.
But It would be great if such short delay values CAN be added somehow. It seems very nice application and feature complete, so why ca not add whatever value you want?

Re: Time offset in BD Author
Ok, I'll consider it for future versions.
Re: Time offset in BD Author
Hi again.
I am experiencing a crash (?) in the muxing process, just before completing the muxing.
I do every time the same thing: Load a blu-ray disc, replace few audio tracks and compile. The result is a popup window from .net, process stops and no output files are produced.
The message says:
I am running win7 x64 and .net 4.5. I have visual studio 2012 installed if that matters.

Re: Time offset in BD Author
I will correct my previous post. The crash happens when demuxing is completed and muxing is starting. Always same message.
My system is win7 64bit sp1, .net framework 4.5.

Re: Time offset in BD Author
Ok, I'll check this. Thanks. Can you try to create and mux also new project from zero, just with one Clip: Video+Audio+Subtitles (PES).
Re: Time offset in BD Author
Yes, it works with new project.
Re: Time offset in BD Author
Hi, Valery. Did you find any time to check the crash with the re-author proccess?
Thanks.
Thanks.
