Delay buttons appearing onscreen

Hi Alexey,
A simple question for you: I want to delay the menu buttons appearing onscreen. Basically the background video will begin and I want the buttons to fade up 3 seconds into the video. I'm assuming this is simple?
Alan.

Hi Alan,
There are 2 ways:
1. You can use an enter animation with 72 frames when all buttons are stay outside the screen (slide animation).
2. You can specify an intro movie in the main menu setting "Intro movie" and create a chapter in the specified intro where menu should appear. Check Help -> FAQ -> "Menu with Intro" for details.
If you just want to show menu after the background video starts - you can use Project properties -> Advanced -> [x] Show menu after video starts (at the bottom center).

Hi Alexey,
I'm still having problems with this.
I want the intro movie to start, then after 3 seconds I want the menu to appear with animated buttons. After the background video finishes, I want the loop point to be 5 seconds into the video so all buttons are already on screen. I have followed the 'help' resource, as suggested, and added an extra 2 playmarks onto the 'intro movie' video. The menu appears after 3 seconds but when the video ends, it loops at the start rather than 5 seconds in, totally ignoring the third playmark.
Do you have any suggestions as to why this might be?
Alan.

Hi Alan,
I just checked:
1) took simple project "4. Switch and Multiaction.bdmd" from
https://blu-disc.net/download/examples/Simple.zip
2) Added 1 additional chapter in "Menu Intro" at 13 sec
3) Decreased "Project properties" -> Menu -> "Menu playlist" -> "Additional playitems in menu clip" to 1
everything works fine for me - it jumps to the 13 second after reaching the movie end.
Could you please check the same?

Alexey,
I can see that your project works, although there seems to be a different approach to the 'help' resource.
When I posted earlier I got my timings wrong, but the problem is still the same. Once my 'intro movie' starts, I want the menu to animate on after 2 seconds. I've managed to do this. Then, when the 'intro movie' ends I need the loop point to be at 7 seconds, this is to avoid seeing the menu animation again. According to the 'help' resource, I need to add two playmarks to achieve this, but it doesn't work. It just starts the loop from the beginning whilst keeping the menu onscreen.
I appreciate this is something I'm doing wrong, I assumed this would be quite simple.
Alan.

But this is exactly what I checked with the Simple project.
Did I understand you right: it works for you in the Simple project, but does not work in your project?
What are you using for muxing (internal muxer, Scenarist, tsMuxer)?

Your project works, but I’m not sure it’s the same as what I’m trying to achieve. I’m using the internal muxer.

Could you send me your intro and menu videos?

Intro in BDS originally was intended to be used with a menu loop that was placed as a menu background video. If you don't have a separate menu loop and are using the same video that contains the intro, you should set "Project properties" -> Menu -> "Menu playlist" -> "Additional playitems in menu clip" to 0.
This is mentioned in Help -> Advanced -> "Import DoStudio® Indie projects". I will add this in the Project properties and FAQ help sections as well.
