Re: Delay buttons appearing onscreen
Hi Alexey,
Thanks for the solution. Once the ‘Additional playitems in menu clip’ is set at zero, the menus are looping as hoped.
However, having tested the disc on a Blu-ray player and 3 different PlayStations models I have noticed a problem. When played on my standard Blu-ray player, the disc loops seamlessly. But on the PlayStations the loop is interrupted by a black flash frame, where the background video briefly disappears.
Do you have any idea why this might be happening?
Thanks again for your continued support.
Alan.

Re: Delay buttons appearing onscreen
Hi Alan,
This happens because jump command is executed after video ends.
Currently there is no solution for this if you have intro and main menu loop as one file.
The only way to solve this is to create a separate menu loop without the intro part and use it as menu background. Your intro video can stay the same. In that case you can enable "Avoid black screen at the end" in "Project properties" -> Menu -> "Menu playlist".

Re: Delay buttons appearing onscreen
Hi Alexey,
I assume I'm doing this wrong, but when I create a separate menu loop, I'm getting a delay between the intro and the menu. The transition isn't seemless, the screen goes black. When I enable 'avoid black screen' the 'additional play items' automatically jumps to 2. Therefore, I've removed the third playmark in the intro movie. Should I expect the transition to be seemless or am I expecting too much?
Alan.

You should enable seamless menu in the same section in Project properties.
But I see that intro video that you have sent has 14 black frames at the end. I guess that is what you see. Menu loop has 28 black frames at the end.
I guess you need to truncate them.

Re: Delay buttons appearing onscreen
Hi Alexey,
The issue with the black screen was not down to black frames on the clips (these have already been removed). I'm afraid I got confused when reading the 'help' resource and was creating 'intro movie' menus unnecessarily. Fortunately, the PDF document 'BluDisc_user_guide_standard_mx.pdf' has helped clarify the process. I now have the DVD working as hoped by separating the intro and background movies.
One thing that has concerned me when reading this document is that it states '60 fps are not legitimate frame rates for bluray discs'. When I insert the disc, during the loading process, my player displays the frame rate as 1080/60p before switching to 1080/24p when the video starts. I need this disc to be universal, is this something that should concern me?

Hi Alan,
BDS does not set any screen resolution or frame rate. The only frame rate that can be set you can change in "Project properties" -> Advanced -> "Animation engine FPS" (at the left, slightly below the center). It is recommended to set it equal to the menu/movie video frame rate.

Hi Alexey,
I have noticed a playback issue when using a PlayStation 4 Pro. When the disc reaches the transition between the intro movie and the main menu there is a slight delay. The audio is not seamless. This doesn’t occur on my Sony player or the standard PS4 and PS5. Can you think why this might be happening?

Hi Alan,
Could you send me a backup of your project, but without main movie assets?
You can use menu File -> "Backup project..." for that and then delete main movie assets (basically I need the full menu with all video/audios/intros/...).

Re: Delay buttons appearing onscreen
For which intro do you see a delay? I see that the "Intro Movie 2" is at the end of the movie list, so it will be placed at the end of the disc. The menu clip is at the beginning of the disc. This may cause a delay.
